Frequently Asked Questions

I have not been diagnosed with endometriosis. Can I still work with you?

Yes! It often takes years and surgery to get confirmed with an endometriosis diagnosis. If you suspect you have endometriosis or just want to work on improving fertility or general nutrition not related to endometriosis, I’m happy to help!

How many appointments are required?

Most clients see improved symptoms and more confidence in their nutrition plan after their first appointment, but nutrition is a complex issue. Most patients prefer to meet every 2-4 weeks for 3-4 visits and then will reduce visits after that. Your needs and insurance can dictate our schedule.

Will you connect with my other healthcare providers?

Yes, if you would like me to. I will connect with providers to request labs, discuss your plan of care, or get clarifications on medications and diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to see you?

Most insurance plans do not require a referral for nutrition counseling. If you live in California, you'll need a referral. It’s always good to check with your insurance plan on any requirements for nutrition counseling.

Will insurance pay for my appointment?

Many insurance plans cover nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian. Check my list of accepted insurance here. It’s always good to verify benefits with your plan. Please note that benefit quotes from insurance companies are not a guarantee of payment. I am unable to take insurance in states where I do not hold a license.

Please note that Medicare only covers nutrition counseling for diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

Where will we meet?

All appointments are offered through telehealth on a secure platform, Simple Practice.

Do you offer meal plans?

During our appointments, we can discuss how to build a meal plan focused on your needs. I also offer a meal planning service through EatLove. Find more information here.

Should I See You Before or After Endometriosis Excision Surgery?

Before, if possible! This way we can get you on the fast track toward symptom relief and healing. I am happy to see clients wherever they are at in their journey.

Should I See You Before or After Fertility Treatment?

Before! If you are thinking of trying to conceive soon or have already started, it’s a great time to make sure you are optimizing your chances of getting a baby with nutrition.

Do You Work With Teenagers?

Yes!
